Speaking recently in an interview with the Italian media, Bonucci said, "the best player in the world? Cristiano Ronaldo. He’s the best player I’ve ever faced. He has all the characteristics of a champion."
Five months ago in an interview with UEFA, the Italian did not comment on who he thought was the better player out of Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. He said "I think they each have their own style. Messi has more talent, a supernatural talent, but Ronaldo has built himself. He became a kind of augmented player. Nevertheless, they are both exceptional, a class above, phenomenal players."
However after Juventus managed to keep a clean sheet in both legs of their Champions League quarter-final fixtures with Barcelona, and Ronaldo scoring twice in the final to guide Real Madrid to a 4-1 win, Bonucci now knows who he considers the superior player.
